What is Rooted?

Rooted is a 10-week experience designed to deepen your connection with God, the Church, and your purpose. If you are new to Four Corners, new to following Jesus, or wanting to build a strong foundation for your faith, Rooted is the place for you. Rooted is not a major shift in our church’s philosophy or direction. It is a tool that we believe advances our mission to help people find and follow Jesus.

Can I still be a part of my community group if I do not want to attend Rooted?

Yes, Rooted may not be for everyone. If you feel that the 10-week commitment is too much for you right now, you can rejoin your community group after Rooted is finished.

Who is Rooted for?

Rooted is for anyone who desires to connect with God and with others, by joining in the discipleship journey at FCCC. It is a valuable experience for:

  • Those in existing community groups. Rooted will give our existing groups a “recharge,” enhancing their time together and giving them a fresh perspective on themselves and the others in their group.

  • Those who are not a part of any group but have the desire to connect into community.

  • Those who are not a part of our church but have been invited by someone in our church to be part of the Rooted experience.

  • Those who are already Christ-followers, or who want to learn more about the journey of following Jesus.

What should I expect if I attend?

At Rooted you will be part of a group of people who are committed to walk alongside each other and encourage each other throughout this experience. During weekly group meetings, you will discuss the devotional material you worked through in your Rooted book that week.

Do I have to show up every week?

We hope you will! Showing up every week will impact your personal growth along with the growth and trust of your group. If you already know you will miss more than two meetings in a Rooted session, we ask that you join us for a different session.

How will my group be determined?

Your group is prayerfully formed by information gathered from your registration. Existing community groups can choose to experience Rooted together, and often do.

How much does it cost?

Rooted at Four Corners will cost $25 ($40 per couple), which helps to cover the cost of your materials and other experiences.

Are scholarships available?

If the Rooted registration fee is a hindrance to you, please contact Scott Murray at scott.murray@fccc.church. We won’t turn anyone away.

Where will the meetings be held?

Rooted groups will meet for three of the ten weeks at Four Corners Church, and seven times at the home that is designated for your group. If your group wishes to meet at the church every week, we can make that possible.

Is childcare available?

If you need assistance with childcare, please contact Scott Murray at scott.murray@fccc.church. Our goal is to have FCCC high school students available for hire who will watch your kids at the home where your group is meeting. We will cover childcare during the weeks that are at the church (week 1,8, 10).

What happens when Rooted concludes?

We hope that your Rooted group will continue on to become a Community Group. Each person and group will have the opportunity to discover for themselves what their best next step is after Rooted. If you were a part of a Community Group before Rooted, you are welcome to return to that group.

What is a Community Group?

A Community Group is an intentional community consisting of 8 to 12 people who meet regularly to pursue spiritual growth, friendship, and support. It’s a safe place to study the Bible, share your life, and ask tough questions.
